Tiger Solar Awarded 2023 USDA REAP TAG Grant

USDA AWARDS TIGER SOLAR SPECIALZED RURAL ENERGY FOR AMERICA PROGRAM TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE GRANT

New Federal Program Provides Tiger Solar Additional Resources to Support Rural and Small Business Owners as They Pursue Grant Funds Available Through the Inflation Reduction Act

Local renewable energy company, Tiger Solar, has announced that it secured a specialized grant from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Through this Rural Energy for America Program Technical Assistant Grant (REAP TAG Grant), Tiger Solar can now provide additional hands-on support and guidance to local businesses during the REAP Grant application process.

The USDA awarded the REAP Tag grant to Tiger Solar because of its demonstrated track record of success at REAP grant procurement for clients. With ten years of REAP Grant writing experience across a broad array of industries, Tiger Solar has assisted local rural and small business owners with seeking federal funds for solar systems. During its tenure, Tiger Solar has a 100% success rate, having more than 45 REAP Grants across four states, totaling more than $1.2 million.

“The REAP Grant process requires extensive paperwork for both prequalification and submission, along with five year’s worth of follow ups after the grant has been secured,” said Russ Edwards, President of Tiger Solar. “With this new REAP Tag Grant, we are excited to be able to assist even more of our neighbors in efficiently accessing federal funds to help them invest in renewable energy resources and create new economic opportunity.”

“As a local, independent business, we had interest in federal grants and incentives for renewable energy, but didn’t have the time or expertise to tackle that daunting process alone,” said Paul Summers, co-owner of Knight’s Gambit Vineyards. “Tiger Solar made the navigation of the USDA process much easier, guiding and assisting every step of the way. We have now secured two REAP Grants with Tiger Solar, and are thrilled that our business runs on renewable energy.”

About the USDA Rural Energy for America Program
The USDA Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) helps increase American energy independence by increasing the private sector supply of renewable energy and decreasing the demand for energy through energy efficiency improvements. Over time, these investments can also help lower the cost of energy for small businesses and agricultural producers. REAP provides guaranteed loan financing and grant funding to agricultural producers and rural small businesses for renewable energy systems or to make energy efficiency improvements. Agricultural producers may also apply for new energy efficient equipment and new system loans for agricultural production andprocessing.
