Read on to find our frequently asked questions.
WHAT SIZE GENERATOR DO I NEED?

We make it simple. Our team evaluates your home’s electrical needs and designs a solution tailored specifically for you. You’ll receive a clear, easy-to-understand load analysis before installation—no guesswork.

HOW LONG DOES THE ENTIRE PROCESS TAKE?

From your first contact with Tiger to final start-up, the full process typically takes 4-8 weeks. We handle permitting, planning, and installation from start to finish.

WHEN WILL I KNOW THE INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE?

Right after the county’s final inspection—usually completed within 2–3 business days after installation. Once approved, your generator is officially ready to protect your home.

DO I NEED TO BE HOME DURING INSTALLATION?

Only for a short walk-through at the beginning. After that, our team takes care of everything while you go about your day.

WILL THERE BE A POWER OUTAGE DURING INSTALLATION?

Yes, there will be a brief scheduled outage—typically 2-6 hours—while we connect the transfer switch. We coordinate timing with you for convenience.

WHAT KIND OF FUEL DOES THE GENERATOR USE?

Generac generators run on propane (LP) and/or natural gas—clean, reliable, and always ready.

DOES THE GENERATOR REQUIRE PERMITS?

Yes, but you don’t have to lift a finger. We handle all electrical, gas, and required zoning permits, along with the inspections for both electrical and propane systems.

Generac generators are impressively quiet—about 63–67 dB, similar to an air conditioner. The Quiet-Test feature makes weekly self-tests even quieter.

HOW DOES THE GENERATOR TURN ON DURING AN OUTAGE?

The moment your home loses power, the automatic transfer switch activates your generator. Within 10–15 seconds, your essential circuits are back up and running.

DO I NEED WI-FI OR MONITORING?

Wi-Fi is optional but recommended. With Generac’s Mobile Link, you can monitor performance, receive alerts, and stay on top of maintenance right from your phone. Remote propane tank monitoring is available as well.

HOW OFTEN DOES THE GENERATOR NEED MAINTENANCE?

Just once a year. Routine maintenance—including oil changes, filter replacements, and full system checks— keeps your generator running at its best for years to come

WHAT IF THE GENERATOR EVER HAS AN ISSUE?

You’re in good hands. We provide full diagnostics and repairs, and most issues can be resolved quickly using official Generac parts.

WILL I NEED A GAS LINE UPGRADE?

Possibly—and we’ll let you know upfront. Our feasibility study will determine whether your current gas line is ready or needs an upgrade.
